Appearance: Brown lyophilized powder, a glycoprotein composed of colorless apoenzyme and brown iron porphyrin. HRP consists of multiple isoenzymes with isoelectric points ranging from pH 3 to 9. The optimal pH for enzyme catalysis varies slightly depending on the hydrogen donor but is generally around pH 5. The enzyme is soluble in water and ammonium sulfate solutions up to 58% saturation. The maximum absorption spectra of the prosthetic group and apoenzyme of HRP are 403 nm and 275 nm, respectively. The purity of the enzyme is generally expressed by the ratio RZ (German: Reinheit Zahl) of OD403nm/OD275nm. A lower RZ value indicates more non-enzyme protein.

Use: Biochemical research. It is one of the main raw materials for enzyme-labeled antibodies and is widely used in enzyme-linked reactions for secondary antibodies. It is a diagnostic enzyme for the production of clinical diagnostic kits. This enzyme can be used to prepare biochemical diagnostic kits for blood glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, etc., and for enzyme-labeled antibodies in ELISA assays.
